WHO IS EXTINCTION REBELLION?

We are a diverse group of all ages and from all parts of the country, united in open rebellion against the Danish government's inaction regarding the climate and ecological crisis. We feel morally obliged to take action – for those who are suffering now, and for all future life.

1. Tell the Truth

All institutions must communicate the danger we are in, and the government must declare a climate and ecological emergency.

2. Act Now

Every part of society, including government, must act now to attain net zero emissions, secure clean water and healthy oceans, hold polluters accountable and regenerate biodiversity.

3. Rethink Politics

Permanent and politically binding citizens assemblies must be established in government, guaranteeing a people powered ecological transition and social justice.

THE TIME IS NOW

Demonstrations, petitions and campaigns have not been effective due to the entrenched economic interests in our political system. Our approach is therefore to organize thousands of people to take part in non-violent, disruptive and creative civil disobedience - an open rebellion to bring power back to the people.
